American actress Blake Lively is dropping her very own hair care line, Blake Brown, and it’s totally lit! The collection features eight vegan goodies, including shampoos, masks, and styling products straight from the hair secrets of Gossip Girl and The Age of Adaline queen herself. The line-up alternates between ‘strengthening’ and ‘nourishing’ formulas that promise to leave your locks “healthy and strong.”
On July 31, Target spilled the tea: they’ll be the exclusive retailer for Blake Brown Beauty. Known for slaying as Serena Van der Woodsen on “Gossip Girl,” Lively’s new hair-care collection is set to launch in Target stores and online started on August 4. And the best part? Every item is priced at $25 or less.Blake Lively revealed that her brand has been seven years in the making, crafted in collaboration with the beauty gurus at Give Back Beauty. The collection is a vibe, featuring sweet, earthy, and musky scents like vanilla, amber, blackcurrant, fig, cardamom, and sandalwood. Blake even said these are “scents that felt like fragrances I would actually buy as high-end perfume,” on Instagram. The vegan formulas are all about that clean beauty life—no sulphates, silicones, parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), synthetic dyes, mineral oils, or other potentially irritating ingredients. Plus, the metallic honeycomb-like packaging is made from recycled materials.
“The most surprising thing for everyone has been that we don’t have a conditioner in the Blake Brown range,” Lively told Glossy. “But that’s because I haven’t used conditioner in 20 years. Instead, I use deep-conditioning masks after every wash. Masks deeply nourish and restore your hair, and even just 30 seconds with the right ‘Every Wash’ or ‘Fundamental’ mask makes all the difference,” she said, referencing her own products.“Blake’s drive, purpose, and instincts in developing this brand were unmatched,” said Give Back Beauty founder Corrado Brondi. “From the meticulously crafted formulations to their exquisite fragrances, Blake had her hands, or should we say hair, in everything. She had a clear vision for how she wanted the brand to look, feel, and smell.”
Give Back Beauty’s Prestige division includes fragrance licenses for luxury brands like Zegna, Elie Saab, and Chopard. The Blake Brown collection is available on blakebrownbeauty.com and exclusively at Target. Lively isn’t the only celeb diving into hair care this year, but she’s definitely making waves.Ranging from $19 to $25, the debut collection includes eight products: liquid and dry shampoos, pre- and post-wash hair masks, leave-in conditioner, and a styling mousse. These goodies are designed to nourish, rehydrate, and strengthen your hair while gently cleansing with a “proprietary plant protein complex.” The brand also claims that these products help reduce frizz and leave your hair looking shiny and fab.
